This is a leaf of early printingfrom a Biblia Latina, 1st Epistle Of Saint Paul To The CorinthiansChapter 1. Printed at Lyons by Joannis Crispini in 1539. Thisis a close copy of Jacques and Jean Mareschal\'s Lyons Bibles of1525. It is also closely related to Jacob Sacon\'s Bibles. Crispini,originally of the French/ Netherlands province of Artois printedfor a time in Lyons before fleeing religious persecution and openinga press in Geneva in 1548. He died of the plague in 1572. Theleaf measures 340 x 240 mm. in totality and contains 70-linesof gothic type printed double column in Latin with 4-line historiatedletters beginning each chapter. The versocontains the same amount of lines, type & layout. (FairfaxMurray 36, Not in Darlow & Moule) This leaf contains minorstaining.
