DESCRIPTION:
Weare pleased to offer you this lovely antique German DOLLY FACE girl doll. Incised on the back of her bisque head is \"Armand Marseille, 390 n, Germany, A 0-1/2 M\". Reference tells me 1910 Germany by Armand Marseille., \"n\" is known as \"dolly face\" mold. This doll is a bisque socket head on wooden composition jointed body that is strung fine being jointed at the neck, shoulders, elbows, legs and knees with all fingers intact, she has straight wrists, some scuffs, paint touch up, and wear for being 100 or so years old but nothing terrible. I notice perhaps a mold imperfection on the upper back, all together intact but need to mention. She has a \"sweet\" dolly face with high quality creamy bisque, open and close blue glass sleepy eyes that work fine, painted lashes around the eyes, retains most wax on eye lids, brush stroked brown brows, she has open mouth with upper teeth intact, a faint little dimple in her chin. I flashed inside the head and do not see any cracks or hairlines, there is plaster cement inside that was too secure the sleepy eyes on rocker as some doll people do. There are two pieces of metal that go down into the neck area, doll was made like this. Her charming brunette wig slips over a pate on her head, possibly vintage but not antique like this doll. Vintage dress is lovely with lace and ruffle accents, only safety pin closure down the back,(a hand made dress that may need a little sewing restoration), she wears slip, pantaloons, stockings and shoes.
