Excellentcollection of 10 x1640s King Charles I English Civil War leadmusket balls. Found around the historic Arundel Castle in the county of West Sussex. Brief history :-

The Castle was built over many years and was started in 1068 during the reign of William the Conqueror. It was family owned until 1176 when King Henry II took possession and upon his death in 1189 by his son King Richard I (The Lionheart).

During the English Civil War (1642-1645) the Castle was badly damaged when it was attacked on 2 occasions ~ first by Royalists & then by Oliver Cromwell\'s Parliamentarian forces (known as \"Roundheads\") who destroyed the fortifications.

In 1786 Charles Howard (11th Duke of Norfolk) began extensive rebuilding and refurbishment. This restoration was later extended by the 13th Duke in advance of a visit by Queen Victoria in 1846. This magnificent Castle is still owned by the Howard family to this day.

Muskets were very inaccurate which is why so many balls are found in field & unearthed still round in shape as they missed the target. My photograph is for illustration purposes and I guarantee to supply 10 equivalent musket balls and will include an extra 4 mis-shapen examples free which I always think are more interesting as they must have actually hit something 370 years ago !!!!
