Engraved added title page and engraved vignette on title page. This version of the Gospels and Acts follows Beza\'s first edition of 1565 and includes Beza\'s Latin version and the Vulgate text. The variorum notes are edited by Balduinus Walaeus and include these contributors: Casaubonus, Camerarius, Gomarus, Calmasius, Heinsius, Camero, Spanhemius, Drusius, Seldenus, de Dieu, Grotius, Montanus, Novarinus, Pricaeus. Complete with all pages; title, engraved title, xvi, 1304 (24 indices)pp. Bound in contemporary full vellum with embossed decoration, the binding has been respined and is strong and tight. The pastedown has theological library plates and inkings. The two free endpapers are partially detached. The title has an embossed library stampand a couple of ink inscriptions.The text hassome slight darkening in the margins, p. 815 has a marginal ink annotation, there is some light staining in places, the last couple of pages of the index are grubby in the margins; all in allin very good condition.
