This is a leaf of early printingfrom an Ulenberg Bible, , an edited version of The DietenbergerBible which was published in 1534 in Mainz. It was the first full-CatholicBible with new and Old Testament published the same year MartinLuther finished his Bible. The Cologne Archbishop Ferdinand ofBavaria assigned noted theologian Casper Ulenberg make the translationof Dietenberger Bible which he completed shortly before his death1617. This version, printed in 1705 is one of two editions printedin Bamberg Germany during the 18th century. The linguistic changesin the various editions of the Dietenberger-Ulenberg Bible remainedrelevant until the late 18th Century. Until that time it was themost common Bible translation in all German Catholic regions.Thesmall folio sized leaf measures 275 x 220 mm. in totality andcontains various lines of German text is printed double columnin a Gothic fraktur typeface.
