This is a leaf of early printingfrom an Ulenberg Bible,Book of Genesis Chapters 43-44, an editedversion of The Dietenberger Bible which was published in 1534in Mainz. It was the first full-Catholic Bible with new and OldTestament published the same year Martin Luther finished his Bible.The Cologne Archbishop Ferdinand of Bavaria assigned noted theologianCasper Ulenberg make the translation of Dietenberger Bible whichhe completed shortly before his death 1617. This version, printedin 1705 is one of two editions printed in Bamberg Germany duringthe 18th century. The linguistic changes in the various editionsof the Dietenberger-Ulenberg Bible remained relevant until thelate 18th Century. Until that time it was the most common Bibletranslation in all German Catholic regions.The small folio sizedleaf measures 275 x 220 mm. in totality and contains various linesof German text is printed double column in a Gothic fraktur typeface.There is a 90 x 175 mm. woodcut depicting Benjamin\' portion atJoseph\'s feast.
