This document, dated 1717, Bristol County, Massachusetts, a writ of judgement against the Nevens brothers of Norton, Massachusetts for non-payment of a debt. They must now pay or go to jail until the debt is paid. Signed at bottom by Ebenezer Brenton and on back by Samuel Gallop as Sheriff and Nathaniel Blagrove as attorney. Document is 8x11, minor faults, else in good condition.

Major Ebenezer Brentonborn at Swansey, 1687.died about 1766, probably in South Kinstown where his will was proved. He gave his farm of 214 acres, near Worden\'s pond, to Martin Howard, Jr. (who had been the husbandof his daughter Ann, deceased,) for life, and then to Ann Howard, his appointedjudgeof the Bristol county Common Pleas Court in 1723-4, and served one year. He wasjudgeof probate of Bristol county from 1733 to 1747.

Samuel Gallop (1656-1717). In 1690,Samuel Gallop wasappointed as one of the Lieutenants by Plymouth Court Orders, was promoted to Captain and had command of the Company in which the Soldiers of Taunton, (required as its quota under the preceding Court Orders) served in the Expedition to Canada.
