An original printed receipt filled in in manuscript, from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, dated March 26, 1767. For six years Quit Rent on 208 acres of land in Salisbury Township owned by William Hamilton. Signed by Edmund Physick (1727-1804), Thomas Penn\'s agent in America. Besides admistering Penn real estate and quit rents, Physick was also very active in Philadelphia\'s intellectual, scientific and political circles.
2 3/4 x 7 1/2\". Center vertical fold, minor edge tears, otherwise very good. Please see seller\'s other items for another quit rent.
