1768 COVERED SERVING DISH 18C Hallmarked London Sterling Silver 18th S Herbert:

18C sterling silver Covered Serving Dish / Dinner Plate made in London England in the year 1768 both the lid and base bear the makers touch mark as expected: H over SH over B - SAMUEL HERBERT & Co. Diameter=23cm (9\"). Weight=514 gram. Elegant classic lines, upward curved handles are perfect, one wiggles a wee bit. The finial is made of two parts \'cow bone\' firm in place.
Condition: excellent - no repair - very minimal wear - good luster - no excessive polishing. There is one short crease on lid , about 1/2cm see last picture look at 12oclock. And one other odd looking scuff - see 2nd last picture. I washed it with soap and water, I did not polish. Would brighten easily, to my eye there are no permanent stain.
