FASCINATING AND MASSIVE HANDWRITTEN ENGLISH VELLUM MANUSCRIPT
FROM HEREFORD large document is written on vellum parchment in period ink, well kept with some attractive patina and varied handwriting styles to the vellum. Document shows original creases and one or two small holes, and some minor text rubbing, as shown. Text in English in a cursive hand, looks to be a mortgage agreement between Ann and William Hoxton and a GeorgeHill, all of Hereford; please see pics for additional names and/or content. Docketed on verso. Includes royal stamps for taxes, along with 3 original wax seals at the foot, all intact with three signatures from the agreement, two of which are simple X marks, signifying that the Hoxtons were probably poor and illiterate and could not write. Remains in fantastic shape. Pics taken with and without flash. HUGE; Measures 31\" x 23\". Truly rare and ancient. Amazing. Good luck!
