Great looking George Washington Inaugural recovered this year out of Connecticut by metal detectorist. When received, I cleaned, but not overly, and applied a thin coat of Renaissance museum wax to arrest any further oxidation. Button has full shank albeit compressed. There have been no alterations or repairs performed on this fine relic. Some silver wash remains on the face but does not show well in the pics. Photos taken with and without flash to present you with best selection of views to make your decision. These typically come out of the ground pretty eaten up with details very compromised. This one is pretty sharp and what verdigris remains certainly does not detract. In my opinion, the coloration is rich and very appealing to the eye. Good luck, and I hope this special piece of history goes to a great home, the second of two that I have had up for sale. I am going to hold onto the third. They don\'t come along this nice out of the ground very often.
