1797 Fine English Georgian Sterling Silver Creamer by John Emes

Presented is a fine old English Georgian sterling silver creamer. This piece dates to 1797 and was made by John Emes. The creamer is done in a lovely traditional helmet form, with a square base. The creamer is beautifully hand engraved around the rim and around the top of the base, with a wreathe cartouche on one side. This cartouche has never been monogrammed. The interior of the creamer has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use.

This piece is hallmarked on the underside with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard\'s head crowned for the city of London, the date letter B for 1797, King George III\'s head duty mark, and the maker\'s mark for John Emes.

This piece is in great overall condition. There is an old solder repair at the narrowest point where the body joins the base, visible only if you turn the creamer upside down and inspect it closely. It also looks like there has been a minor solder repair to the lower junction of the handle to the body. Otherwise there are no issues, no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monograms, and no monogram removals.

The creamer is about 5 3/4 inches tall.

The creamer weighs 144 grams or 5.1 regular ounces.
