1799 Bill of Sale for Two Cows, 7 ¾ x 3 3/8 inches, probably American, some stains to the paper and a tiny pin hole bottom center, hand written in brown ink on early paper with chain marks, probably torn from a ledger of the size needed, dated October 31th 1799 and signed by Edward Hyes, with spelling errors, additions, and part of the name written above where he ran out of room at the edge, “this day I Edward Hyes sold Mr Thomas Chapman two cows for twenty six dollars which I promis to recive for the same notes [?] Chapman pleases at than end of one year ^ to return them with the two calves kept through the winter witness my hand. Edward Hyes”, nice piece of early American ephemera.
