unframedpanel: 11.5 x 11 inchesIntriguing early work, being a fragment of canvas laid down on panel. The work is partly restored and very hard to \'read\' due to its age and condition. Two riders on horseback converse on the left by the entrance to what is most likely the city gates. The outline of a further figure on horseback stands to the right. The painting dates to the 17th/ 18th century and is clearly of Dutch authorship. Beyond that, it is a bit of a mystery!Condition report:
The canvas has been laid down on panel a long time time ago. The painting is very dirty with some loss and deterioration. If a painting is framed, we are happy to include the frame with the painting free of charge but accordingly cannot compensate or refund should the frame incur damage during its transit.
