17th/18th Century European Partizan Halberd Spontoon Pike Polearm MUSEUM QUALITY

Measures80 1/2" long. Head 9".This is very similar to George Neumann's "Swords & Blades of the American Revolution". He states "The partizan was a polearm for honor guards and officers during the 1600's. In a pure form it was completely symmetrical, with a tall spear point and lateral projections at its base. Here are seen the characteristic high median ridge, triple base projections, and mounting socket which greatly influenced the French and German halberd patterns of the 18th century.
