You will not find another like it. This would have been a very early pinball style counter top game or gaming board. Made from peg nails and quality wood craftsmanship. You will notice no nails show through the back, that is because there is a gap (1/2 inch) between the back of the piece and the wood face of game board. It appears to be fully held together with nails. I saw some small areas of glue along a slat or two, but mostly just nails, very, very old nails.

Operates by pushing a marble or steel ball down the slopped wood slats with a little bit of force and letting the balldrop into the slots. If you look very closely there are some penciled in numbers (I think4 read 20, and 1 is 25) under the cross metal bars and where4 othercross bars were. Only a1-2 pegs are missing butfour of the little cross bars are. They could be easily replaced with a hard wire (like coat hanger) and that is probably why they fell out over the past 120-150 years. Unlike the pegs, the cross bars simply slid into the holes. Apparently the goal was to have your ball pass through them while being scored. There is a small rounded dug out areanear topcenter. It may have been for scoring or possibly to start the marbleif you were doing a simple drop or nudge method.

One lower slat is missing at the bottom and a few are loose. I have done nothing to the board since buying it. I have not even dusted it. All the slats could be glued if you wish or just hang the board as is, as it is truly a perfect wall hanger.

Measures just over 36\" x 16\" x 2\"and weighs about 8 1/2 pounds.

I took a bunch of pictures for your consideration. You will notice somevintage wear and some old bug bites or minor water damage on the one end, but overall it isgood shape. You are seeing it exactly as it is. There were no signatures or dates on the piece, but whoever made was fairly skilled. It almost looks like an old patent prototype, but I have no history on the piece as it was from an estate.

People pay a fortune for old pinball machines. This one predates them all! I am starting sale at a reasonable price given the unique quality and rarity of this item.

I ship everything with care and as quickly as I can get the item securely packed.
