Fine and rare antique glass carboy or demijohn, 19th century, of two-piece blown mold construction in laterally compressed “kidney” form, with sheared top and flat, ribbon-like applied lip, of a striking hue ranging (depending on the light) from deep honey amber to olive green, the lower two-thirds of the exterior with prominent whittle, approx. 17” tall x 18” wide by 10” deep. A single, shallow, unobtrusive chip to side of top above applied lip, otherwise excellent, attractive condition, with no other chips or cracks, good wear patterns on the base, and all bubbles fully intact.

Found near Salem, New Hampshire.
