This spoon measures a full 12\" in length and was made in 1808 in London. It has a classical early 19th century rounded tip with an Armorial crest of a bent arm holding a spear or arrow (see close-up photos) This is an extremely long and heavy well made solid silver spoon. It weighs a hefty 134 grams or 4.7 ounces.
The back of the handle is marked for Sterling with the Lion Passant and crowned leopard for London with a letter N date letter for 1808 with a duty mark for King George III and has a makers mark WE WF WC for well respected London silversmiths Wm. Eley, Wm. Fearn, and Wm. Chawner.
This spoon is in excellent estate condition with no faults and only normal surface wear from being gently used over the past 200 years. This fine spoon will survive us all. There is no notable damage.
