In this letter dated August 28th, 1813, William Onderdonk has written to M.H.F.Jones at Fort Neck, Long Island. Onderdonk writes about sending Jones some morocco, a patent yellow green, 8 yards….due to Mr. bloodgood not wanting to cut a piece off….perhaps he can use the overage on tassles or loops? Onderdonk gives details about some narrow lace, not to trim it, but to turn it under to be nailed upside down with a few pins to hold it.

Jones had requested some small paint brushes, but from the tenor of the letter, Onderdonk decided not to procure them, as they can easily be bought at the book stores….in great haste, Wm. Onderdonk.

Letter is two pages, folds, addressed outer leaf, some toning and minor tears, else in overall good condition.
