Presented for sale is this Stunning Rare Antique Scottish Georgian Solid Sterling Silver Teapot, hallmarked for Edinburgh 1816 by George McHattie.This stunning antique rare antique Scottish Georgian large solid sterling silver teapot is of a squat circular form with a superb leaf capped scroll handle, short leaf capped spout, domed hinged lid with foliate leaf bun finial standing on a fabulous stepped circular pedestal base. It is decorated to the body with part gadrooning which is repeated to the lid and inner rim and is finished with a fabulous cast shell and foliate scroll overhanging rim and is unpersonalised, stunning quality item/craftsmanship. This stunningantique rare antique Scottish Georgian large solid sterling silverteapot is of a squat circular form witha superb leaf capped scroll handle, short leaf capped spout, domedhinged lid with foliate leaf bun finial standing on a fabulous stepped circular pedestal base. It is decorated to the body with part gadrooning which is repeated to the lid and inner rim and is finished with a fabulous cast shell and foliate scroll overhanging rim and is unpersonalised, stunning quality item/craftsmanship. It is hallmarkedto the basewith the Edinburgh assay office Three Towered Castle, the Date letter K for 1816, the Makers mark GMH, the Scottish Thistleand the Duty mark of King George III\'s head, please see all the additional photos as they form part of the description.

Measuring 5 1/4\" high to the top of thehandleby11\" long handle to spout by 7\" at its widest across the rim approx. it is inexcellent antique used condition witha few tiny tiny miniscule pin prick/shallow indents to the body, the knop has a tiny hole in the top and is slightly out of shape and the lower section of the handle has an old repairreally nothing serious at all and consistent with age/use, there are no major dents, dings or splits, the handle is sound with no play in it as is thehinged lid.The weight of the teapot in silver isagood heavy 750grams or 24.11troy ounces by my electronicscales and the teapots capacity is just over2pints or1.2ltrs approx. with no leaks.
