Up for sale is an 1823 edition of an 18th century work by Antoine Francois Prevost, usually known as Abbe Prevost, entitled HISTOIRE du GUILLAUME Le CONQUERANT. Volume16 in the Oeuvres de Prevost, published in Paris by Chez Boulland-Tardieu in 1823.632 pages.

This contains the entirety of Prevost\'s work on William the Conqueror, which was first published in 1740. This early 19th century edition bound in half leather over marbled boards. Leather ribbed on spine, with decoration and gilt lettering in compartments. All page edges marbled and marbled endpapers.

Containstwo tissue-protected steel engravings depicting scenes from the tale.

Leather at base of spine splitting; small piece at head of spine absent. Text block straight and true and hinges very firm. Overall still in Good Plus condition.

Scarce. I am selling three different lots of Prevost this week, all from the same set. I have only five volumes from this set, so am selling them separately by title, but they are all uniformly bound.
