Map Details: Extremely rare183 year old map of theregion by Henry Teesdale.This is one of the rarest and unique maps ofthe United Statesthat you will ever see.I don\'t even know where to begin with this map...Michiganis stillshown as a territory. Arkansas is a territory and is shown in its large territory shape that extends into modern day Oklahoma. The North West Territory is still shown in the Wisconsin and Minnesota areas. The border between Illinois and Indiana is shown as undefined. A Huge Missouri Territory extends west of the Mississippi River. The Missouri Territory and North West Territory claims also extends into modern day Canada. Just a gorgeous and incredible map all the way around.The map features show excellent details including roads, railways, canals etc. Henry Teesdale was a prominent London publisher and founding fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. He produced large-scale maps and charts and a number of fine atlases in the early part of the nineteenth century. He employed the most skilled draftsmen and engravers and his maps are renowned for precise detail and fine coloring. His maps, and particularly his atlases, are increasingly scarce on the market. The atlas that this map comes fromis basically now priceless because there are none to be found. The map is in what I would consider excellent and almost perfect condition given the age of the map.Gorgeous and bold original hand coloring.Copyright date of 1834 printed in margin. Centerfold as issued.Thismap is from my personal collection.These Teesdale maps are now so rare that it would be great just to be able to own any of the ones that I have listed. General Description:

Strikingly interesting andhighly detailed map.The map depicts in great detailall of the geographical information known at the timethe map was published.Note that many geographical details have changed since the map was published and were not accurate compared to today\'s modern maps because things were fully discovered and accurately mapped yet. Map symbols and details include individual towns, rivers, lakes, bays, harbors, islands, mountains, forests, roadsand other important places as shown on the map in this listing.

2. The map is inexcellent condition consideringthe age and rarity of the map.The overall size of the map sheet is approximately18 inches by14 inches.

3. The map is a 100% original and genuine antique map.

All of my maps are investment grade and collectible quality. The value of this original will only increase over time. Many people are now starting to offer cheap reproductions/copies. Why spend the money for something like that when you can have an original for a few dollars more that will only increase in value over time.
