With a folding map frontispiece.

Sir John Ross was a british naval officer and Arctic explorer. His expedition between 1829 and 1833 began asa goal to restore his reputation as an explorer after his former lieutenant, William Edward Parry, had gained renown without him. The expedition underwent several hardships and lost three lives, however Ross received a knighthood on his return to England, and the expedition was valuable for the scientific and ethnological information gathered. Much of the importance of the trip, not to mention it\'s success, is attributed to Ross\'s befriending of the Inuit.

CONDITION

IN a cloth binding. Externally, sound with dampstaining and moderate rubbing to boards. Front hinge tender. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages bright with spotting and tidemarks throughout. Overall: GOOD
