A PAPUAN OR NATIVE NEW GUINEA, 10 YEARS OLD, credit Black & Parbury & Allen, Leadenhall Street,1817, from Raffles History of Java, London, edition of 1844. sheet measures 12 x 8.5\", image area about 9 x 6.5\", shows an almost naked dark skinned young boy with very pronounced nose and lips. He is standing with arms crossed across chest, wearing just a loin cloth, background is dappled sky, water, mountains. foliage, a very very nice image in good condition, edges of the sheet a little chipped at corners. Heavyweight paper, blank on back. This print is seldom available as an individual item.I don\'t find this print listed anywhere, not online, not in various image archives.
