UNDERGROUND RAILROAD ROUTE.
1849 survey drawing and legal description for 6 acres on the underground railroad route.
Surveyed for William R. Andrews from Arthur J. Willis. A lot of 6 acres and referred to as
\"The End of Controversy;\" whatever that means? It begins in the middle of the road that
leads from Fowling Creek to Denton. This goes along that Harriet Tubeman (sic) route from Dorchester County.
Arthur J. Willis was a yankee. Down south we still call them damn yankees. Anyway, he was,
evidently a pretty wealthy man having many acres of land in and around the underground railroad route ofCaroline County, MD. along with about a 1000 shares of Northern Pacific Railroad.
The Harriman\'s (Averill Harriman was big with that guy named Roosevelt)
were instrumental in this railroad\'s advancement. Those 1000 shares, for a moment in time, were worth about a million dollars.
