Here\'s a crude bubbly 15\"tall early pontiled demijohn utility bottle that was hand blown in the 1850s or 1860s .......either free blown or hand blown in dip mold because there are no mold seams....Probably blown at a New England glasshouse
15\"tall.....rough jagged pontil scar.....crude drippy applied tapered wedge collar....beautiful olive green color......Excellent shiny nice condition with no chips or damage of any kind. A nice shiny clean bottle with no haze. Crude glass with hundreds of small bubbles. A crude slight lean to one side.This original early Civil War era or older demijohn would have been used for making wine at home or for storing water or chemicals, etc. My pictures dont do this bottle justice....it is a great looking crude old demijohn!
