Here for your consideration is a very unique Chinese Export Silver Dish made by Gem Wo from Canton in the mid 1800\'s.
I really don\'t know the purpose of this but I\'m guessing it had a glass liner at one time and perhaps a preserve dish?
The footed under plate measures 6\" long and 4 3/4\" wide. Fully hallmarked(see photos). GW is even stamped on the highly detailed feet.
The dish measures 4 1/4\" across and 2 3/4\" across and 1 5/8\" tall.
The set is heavy and weighs solid at 311 grams.
There is a ding in the underplate and lid(on the rim-see photo). The dish fits a bit wobbly on the underplate. I think it\'s in amazing condition for being over 150yrs old!
This is very well hallmarked with GW and Chinese Characters.
I think this is a very RARE piece and will add class to any collection.
