1855 RARE ORNATE LEMON Gilt Cast Metal AMBROTYPE TINTYPE Miniature Antique Frame:

Outstanding rare mid 19th century gilded cast metal ambrotype or tintype hanging frame (this was found with a damaged ambrotype in it). Ornate acanthus leaf designwork with beaded outer edge and top and bottom crests. When in direct light some areas almost sparkle.....very unusual. Condition is excellent with minor wear. i\'ve seen some of these cast metal frames before but they are usually pretty dull and simple....nothing like this. Frame measures 4 1/2 x 7 3/4 overall with a 3 1/4 x 3 7/8 rabbet and a 2 3/4 x 3 1/2 viewing area. Fantastic little frame that is just waiting for that special early photo.
