Original1860\'s Baltimore & Ohio Telegraph Message

From an EstateRailroad Collection.

Although there is no date written behind the 186 this was in with other B&O Telegraph messages mentioning Civil War Events from 1863 and 1864.I believe it is the same time period and the men mentioned are troops and the department mentioned is the War Department. It is a novice opinion and I will leave it to the experts so you be the judge please.

Telegraph between Baltimore & Ohio employees. (possibly yardmaster or scheduler)Telegraphsays to express 174 men to Columbus. It gives instructions to then move them immediately on arrival. It mentions complaints from the Department of delays at Bellaire. This was in a folder that says Telegraph Station at Grafton West Virginia.Very interesting.

Good condition. Minor creases. Writing is very clear. To: H.J Jenrett, Zanesville & G.W. Brown, Columbus Signed L.M. Cole

8 1/2X5inches.
