1860\'s Civil War Non-Dug Confederate Virginia (State Seal) Brass Staff officer\'s CUFF Button. BACKMARK: The reverse has a, c.1860, depressed * SUPERIOR* QUALITY, between concentric ringsTYPE: Brass gilt three pieceCONDITION: Overall, the button has a great look and good detail. Small bend in button as seen in photo. The shank is at a slight angle. Some tarnish on front and back. Small spot on front where Gilt is worn through. As found, never cleaned.. Im certain this button saw action during the civil war based on its wear. From what I gathered from the woman who\'s family these came from, the buttons were saved once the uniform was worn out, because that\'s what they did at the time.I also have a set of nine of the Coat buttons, a couple more loose coat buttons and a few cuffs listed on that came from the same group. This came from an older lady and had been in her family for quite some time. They were mixed in a jar with other plain buttons of the same age.GREAT PIECE FOR YOUR COLLECTION IN REALLY NICE SHAPE...
