Rare and original, 1860\'s Abraham Lincoln Albumen CDV Photograph taken from the original Mathew Brady \"Five Dollar\" Image. This period, Albumen CDV Image is mounted on its original square cornered, blank backed CDV card mount.
This original, Abraham Lincoln CDV portrait Photomeasures approx. 2 1/8\" by 3 5/8” and is mounted in its original, square corner CDV card mount that measures approx. 2 1/2” by 4”. The Portrait of Lincoln is a retouched and enhanced version (with engraved elements) of the Mathew Brady \"Five Dollar\" pose taken by Anthony Berger in Washington, D.C. on February 9, 1864 and designated by Lloyd Ostendorf as O-92. The mount carries the backstamp of the publisher – Golden & Sammons of Chicago.
This rare, Abraham Lincoln CDV Portrait is in very good condition exhibiting sharp focus and good contrast and tonality although a bit light. There is some minor soiling to both the Image and the mount.
