This scarce pro-Confederate unused Civil War envelope measures approximately 5 1/2\" x 3 1/4\" and utilizes a white backgroundwith design printed infour colors.

Printed words alongsidethe illustration read:

According to Patriotic Envelopes of the Civil War bySteven R. Boyd, at least 15,000 pro-Union envelope designs appeared between 1861 and 1865, versus only 250 pro-Confederate designs, makingpro-Confederate envelopes much more scarce than their Union counterparts.

The cover is not postally used. Both front and back panels are present, as well as the original flap closure, which opens freely and has its original gum seal intact.

The cover is ingood condition with light agetoning andfaint stain marks throughout.
