This genuine original antique wood-cut engraving is titled \"MRS. MAJOR BELLE REYNOLDS.—PHOTOGRAPHED BY COLE, OF PEORIA, ILLINOIS.\"It was published in Harper\'s Weekly, May 17, 1862.Reynolds joined her husband who was enlisted with the Seventeenth Illinois Volunteer Army and traveled with him to battle during the American Civil War. She became a heroine because of her involvement in the Battle of Shiloh, where Belle helped the wounded soldiers
The print measures 5 1/2\" x 7 1/2\", with ample margins for framing. It is in very good condition with mild age toning and text on verso.The paper is structural sound and flexible, remarkable for an item over 150 years old.
