These bound two volumes of United States ServiceMagazine are 1864 Volume 1 and Volume 2.These were compiled by C.B. Richardson 441 Broadway New York (copyright 1864). There is much American Civil Wardetail collected/written during the war. Books are about 6x9 inches, with 668 and 604pages. Hardcovers have much wear; leather on binding edge has cracked (and have partially opened inside); corners andsome of cover has worn to cardboard (see photos). Pages have toned with age withsome foxing (brown spotting). Front and back first and last about five pages(inside cover, blank pages and title) have much foxing and staining - seephotos. Bindings are tight and pages are still flexible for reading and turning.Edges of pages are bookcase dusty. Four pages have missing bottom corners (Vol.2 pages 265-272); I think this is due to manufacturer error as pg 279 has extra tab on corner and no tip (seephotos). NO other dog-eared pages are noted. Only marks note is three pencilletters ((SDS) inside front covers of both volumes. There is a private librarylabel inside cover of Vol. 1 of prior owner (a \"famous\" person whodied in 1885); vol.2 has a shadow of where a similar label was. Books do have a SLIGHT OLDSMELL; I will store them with fabric softener sheets to lessen it. Any questionsplease ask. Thank you HC Payment and Shipping
