original 1864 civil war era Lincoln presidential campaign broadside in good plus to very good minus condition and still extremely rare to find at all today. picked up at a yard sale house clean out in Newport this morning. Newport is a small town and back in 1864 it was even smaller so how many were actually printed locally back in the day 50, 100, 200 who knows but probably not too many to tell of Lincoln\'s victory. these would have been tacked up on buildings, trees, and sign post in the area back in the day. I think its fair to say that today this is probably the only one now in existence in any condition printed here locally in Newport, nh. five months later from the time of this broadside printing Lincoln was assassinated at ford\'s theater in Washington, d.c.. the broadside has creases, folds, small tears and pieces missing along with some edge stains. where it came from someone put it in the frame to lay it out flat and protect it from handling. they put tape on the edges to hold it in place so it needs to be removed and correctly conserved for a better appearance with some nice matting and framing. the broadside measures approx. 16 x 21 3/4 inches. this is a genuine item from the period and comes with a 100% lifetime guarantee to be original and extremely rare. you\'ll never see or find another one.

hi, Ijust opened the frame to check and see if it was glued down and its not, I didn\'t want to handle it at all.the paper isfloating freely in the frame with tape around the edges to keep it from moving and pressed against the glass. the broadside is not glued down so it can be removed carefully for restoration, just tape around the edges.
