This is a wonderful, original letter archive, from family members of Edmund T. Robie of the 11th New Hampshire Infantry. Letters date from 1864-1865 regarding Edmund\'s wherabouts in the service, a letter from Edmund saying he had been given furlough and a letter from his father stating that Edmund has been arrested with 8 others for desertion......

First letter scanned, dated March 1, 1864 from Edmund says that he is on furlough and is attending serveral meetings to put down the copperheads....two pages, 6x9, signed by Edmund at lower left.

Second letter scanned is from Edmund\'s father, A. Robie to his son (Edmunds brother) Francis, regarding Edmund deserting with 8 others, that several of the men are trying to get some money together to help get a lawyer..trying to get General Marston to speak to the President, maybe he can get a pardon..the officers here will do all they can....signed in text by J.M.M.Eliot on fourth page...a five page letter .

Also are four other letters from family members to Francis, giving small war dated descriptions of what Edmund is up to and where he might be. Total of six letters, all addressed and sent to Francis Robie of Boston, with envelopes. Overall condition is very good, easily read. Please see scans.
