John Murray, London, 1865The Iliad of Homer, these two volumes printed by W. Clowes & Sons, Stamford Street and Charing Cross. Bound in full red morocco by Bickers & Son, full gilt spine, gold lines borders front and back cover, marble endpapers, marble edges, 5 3/4\" x 8 3/4\" tall. Condition: Tight and sound binding. Worn on spine, spine ends, leather edges and corners; soiling and scratches on leather covers. Has ex-owner signature on top corner of free endpaper in both volumes. Volume I has attached bookplate signed by W. K. Vanderbilt Jr. (See pic #7).
