Imagine, this book was printed just after the Civil War ended in the United States of America!!!
Bookisbound in black cloth binding with gold Masonic design on cover. The spine is sun-faded. The covers are firmly attached.
All pages are clean and tightly bound. The book has two interesting and unique pieces of paper glued to the front endpages. On inside of cover is a sheet of paper stating the the book was presented to Lindsey Lodge by Bro. Ed. B Bogg M.D. Royal Navy in 1866. (Research shows that Edward B. Bogg was an Assistant Surgeon on a 1058 ton ship, a sloop, named Devastation in the Royal Navy in 1863. The HMSDevastation was a paddle sloop launched in 1841 and broken up in 1866.
On the front flyleaf is a printed sheet from the Lindsey Lodge of Freemasons with rules for taking out books from their library.
Book is quite rare and remains in good condition.
