This large format stereview by Charles L. Pond of Buffalo is marked as having been entered with the Librarian of Congress in 1870.
It is numbered 509 and the caption reads \"Buffalo, N.Y. from Scaffolding of St. Paul\'s Cathedral Tower, 265 ft. high.\"
The church on left in the view appears to be the First Presbyterian, aka The Brick Church\", which was located between Pearl and Main streets at the time of this photograph.
Pond was a well-known Buffalo photographer who later worked in Salt Lake City.
Note the advertising signs on the buildings in the view.
Condition is as you see it in the photos here. No tears or bends, there is normal wear for age and expected condition for age.Pls. review all the photographs here, as they are key components of our descriptions.
NOTE: This view is a folded mount, with a vertical crease between the images. Doubtless occurred while the card was being viewed and moved in the viewer holder, decades ago. It does not impair the images and the mount is stable; i.e. it is not \"faling apart.\" But, it is there now and will be there when you receive it.
