1870Subtitle: Containing the Old and New Testaments: Translated out of the Original Tongues; and with the Former Translations Diligently Compared and Revised. New York: American Bible Society. This is a big volume measuring 10 1/4\" x 7\" x 3\". 144 years old! and in Very Good condition. Full leather with 5 raised bands on spine. Decorated with Victorian gilt design, lettering, dentelle and ruling. All page edges sparkling gilt. Some minor cracking along front edge of spine but both boards securely attached. Very light rubbing to boards and spine. Name stamp on front board in gilt with two sets of initials and the last name of \"Davenport\". It looks like this Bible could have been a wedding present initially. John 3:16 elegantly written on front flyleaf and a former owner\'s name above that. On the title page someone wrote \"Authorized King James Version.\" No other writing or marks. No odors. Family record sheets are blank. Pages are tightly bound and overall very clean. Light water-staining to a small section of the outer margin at the end of the Old and the beginning of the New Testament.
