This is a Model 1870 Vetterli rifle bayonet. It was adopted by Italy in 1870 and used through 1881. The bayonet has an overall patina and honest wear for an item that likely saw combat in pre-WWI times. The scabbard is missing and I have not taken the time to make a replacement sheath for it as it would not be period correct and may detract from the overall value to a serious collector. This would be a good starter piece for someone collecting bayonets or Italian militaria or European militaria.
