(December 1832 - June 1920) was a novelist French a lawyer, Charles Chartier wrote under the pen name of \"Charles Mérouvel\" to a literary career devoted to romance novels.

Octave Feuillet (August 11, 1821–December 29, 1890) was a French novelist and dramatist.He was elected to the French Academy in 1862, and in 1868 he was made librarian of Fontainebleau palace, where he had to reside for a month or two in each year. In 1867 he produced his masterpiece Monsieur de Camors, and in 1872 he wrote Julia de Trécœur.

Arsène Houssaye (28 March 1815 - 26 February 1896), French novelist, poet and man of letters, was born at Bruyères (Aisne), near Laon. His real surname was Housset. In 1832 he found his way to Paris, and in 1836 he published two novels, La Couronne de bluets and La Pécheresse. He had many friends in Paris, among them Jules Janin and Théophile Gautier, and he wrote in collaboration with Jules Sandeau.

CONDITION

In half morocco bindings with marbled boards. Externally, very smart with some shelfwear and marks to the boards. Internally,generally bright with some slight age toning to theMerouvel and Feuillet volumes and some scattered spotting throughout.
