The text begins with The English Kingdoms 607-1013 and finishes with \'Modern England\' at 1873.
Written by John Richard Green, an English Historian and honorary fellow of Jesus College Oxford. Green began with a religious career however his true passion was history. Greenstarted work on hisShort History having been only given six months to live from an illness.He decided that this History is to be of English people, not the conquests or English kings.
CONDITION
In a half calf binding with gilt stamping to spine. Externally, sound with slight rubbing. The head of the spine is particularly rubbed with some loss, as are the extremities. Gilt stamping to spine is slightly rubbed as is the front joint. Prior owner\'ssignature to the verso of the front endpaper.Internally, firmly bound. Spotting to endpapers with the odd spot throughout. Overall: GOOD.
