3 X 3 3/8 Inch Political Flip card \"Hancock, Hancock- Cock- A - Doodle Doo!\' June 24 1880\". On June 24, 1880, the Democratic National Convention nominated Union General Winfield Scott Hancock for President. Front has picture of Hancock strutting like a rooster in his Civil War uniform. When flipped open, Hancock is a bloody mess and below reads \"November 2nd 1880 Hancock Hancock Boo- Hoo- Hoo\". Back of card entitled \"Rhymes for Young democrats\' chastises the Democratic nominee for sympathizing with the rebels in the South and suppressing the Negro vote. The first verse reads: \"Sing a song of shotguns, Pocket full of knives, Four- and- twenty black men, Running for their lives; When the polls are open, Shut the nigger\'s mouth, Isn\'t that a bully way to make a solid South?\'.
