Volume III: Puritan England 1603-1660, The Revolution 1660-1688
Volume IV: The Revolution 1683-1760, Modern England 1760-1815.

With eight maps to volume I, four maps to volume III and three maps to volume IV.

Collated, complete.

John Richard Green was an English historian. He started as a clergyman but soon turned to historical writings and was librarian and Lambeth. His History of the English People gave him an assured place in the first rank of historical writers.

Notably Green stated that this work is not to be on the Kings or Conquests but of the English people.

CONDITION

In half calf bindings with cloth covered boards. Externally, generally smart with slight rubbing to the spines, joints and extremities. Rubbingis heavier to the head and tail ofjoints andandspines. Loss to head of spine to volume II due to rubbing. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright with spotting to the first and last few pages. The odd spot throughout.Loosely inserted tovolume IV arepictures of a castle with a bridge presumably belonging to a prior owner. Overall: VERY GOOD.
