1886 SUPERB / VERY LARGE ENGLISH CARVING SET IN ORIGINAL WOODEN DISPLAY CASE.Can be dated accurately as has English registration number 47065 to the handles, this dates the set to 1886. Made by the Sheffield Cutlery Company, Sheffield. Has ebonised wooden handles & silverplate banding. The banding actually looks like silver but is not marked as such. The set is larger than normal carving sets. Knife 41cms long, Steel 34cms, Fork 31.5cms. The metal base of the knife will need tightening otherwise in very nice condition for age. The metal plaque is missing from the top of the lid._gsrx_vers_603 (GS 6.9 (603))
