1887 Documents Thomson GA Willis Murray Described \"tolerably black\" Gold Mine:
$19.99

Two small original documents from Thomson, Georgia. They both came from a group of documents from Thomson which I purchased last year. The smallest one is a receipt showing that W.H. Murray paid $3.00 rent Dec. 4, 1887 and signed by J.E. White. The other document is a description of Willis Murray whom it seems someone is looking for. It states: Willis Murray about 19 or 20 years old, medium size, tolerably black, hangs his head down, shows the whites of his eyes, slow spoken, joint of big toe & foot very large & prominent...Owen Baldwin is his uncle, apt to be in that neighborhood, perhaps at Willis Gerald place or Crop Roads Store or he may be working at some of the gold mines.

The paper has yellowed with age but otherwise is in good condition. Please look at the photos and let me know if you have questions.
