1889 Identified Cabinet Cards Fitchburg Gardner MA Genealogy Photo Album Rare:
$248.35
This is a fabulous historical collection of people who helped shape the City of Fitchburg in the mid to late 1800s and into the early 1900s!
Fitchburg Mass High School Class of 1889 Identified Cabinet Card Photo Album with some additional Genealogy Information - Most are faculty, teachers and students that attended FHS in 1889, some are family or friends from the Fitchburg / Gardner MA area and Nelson/Jaffrey NH area. Names and some comments like \"teacher at FHS\" or \"89\" or names of other relatives of the person in the photo are on the backs of each! This is a very rare find indeed!
All of the Cabinet cards are in very nice condition - all are identified on the backs, and I\'ve done considerable additional research on many of the people, including dates & locations of birth, deaths, burials, occupations and family members, which I will be happy to pass along to the buyer.
There is normal wear to the exterior of the album, and no strap to close it, and the person who owned the photo album before us took the cards out, and in doing so some of the slots they fit into were torn. The cabinet cards are in really nice shape, as they were in the album slots probably for well over 120 years. The large cabinet cardsmeasure about 6-1/2”X 4-1/4”, and are ofthese 36 people:

I have carefully removed the photos and written the names and other info which was written on the backs of the cabinet cards and put it onto stickies and placed them near each photo, so that the photos can remain in their slots.
There are a few people that are in both a large portrait and another small one as you can tell by my list.
I have about 10 typed pages of research on these folks (16 font) and a page that I downloaded about Mr. Kittredge who left a scholarship fund for the students of Westfield MA, where he taught after Fitchburg. All of which I will be happy to pass along to the buyer. The research includes such info asdates & locations of birth, deaths, burials, occupations and names, dates of birth, etc on family members of many of the people in the album.
Whether you are a geneologiest, or want this album for yourself, to gift to someone, or to donate to the Fitchburg Historical Society, this is an incredible collection! Some of these photos are probably the only photos of these people known to exist today, and the snippets of info I obtained from various sources could be the most complete compilation available today.
The album itself is in fair condition, not ripped, but missing the strap and worn, and some of the slots are no longer complete. so I have not photographed it. The value is in the cards.
I will not sell the cards individually, as they are a wonderful collection of people that are all interconnected.
Thanks for looking!
