This is a genuine United States postage stamp honoringAmerican NavalCommodore Oliver Hazard Perry.It is the90¢ 1890-93 Regular Issue stamp printed by the American Bank Note Company, Scott # 229. The stamp is in mint, previously hinged with partial remaining original gum condition. Itappears to have been adherent to an album page or another stamp and has a paper remnantattached to the back of this stamp. (Soaking would probably remove any remnants of paper and hinges.) Although the stamp has faults, it is still an attractive example of this vintagestamp.
