Superb, heavy (623.9gm) Victorian presentation sterling silver half-fluted pedestal coffee pot hallmarked 1890 by Charles Stuart Harris. The presentation engraving reads \"PRESENTED TO JONATHAN HARRISON WITH THE THANKS OF HIS EMPLOYERS ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE MANAGEMENT OF COWAN-HEAD MILL, AFTER 28 YEARS OF FAITHFUL SERVICE. NOVEMBER 1891\".

Cowan-Head Mill: Located between Kendal and Windermere, Cumbria and straddling the River Kent. There has been a mill on the site from the 18th Century and operated as a paper mill. The mill finally closed in 1977 and has now been converted into luxury apartments.
